Neurology Service
Neurology is the study and treatment of diseases of the nervous system. This part of the body includes the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles.

The neurology service is led by Laurent Garosi, DVM, Dip ECVN, RCVS and European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology. Laurent is aided by Sebastien Behr, DVM, Dip ECVN, MRCVS and Simona Radaelli, DVM, PhD, DipECVN, MRCVS .

The neurology service sees a wide-range of presentations, including loss of limb function (ranging from wobbliness, weakness to total paralysis), seizures, spinal pain/compression, loss of nerve function, abnormalities of special senses (e.g. balance problems), and muscles diseases.

Case investigations might include a combination of blood tests, diagnostic imaging (e.g. MRI scanning, myelography), cereberospinal fluid sampling, advanced electrodiagnostics (electromyography, nerve conduction velocities) and nerve or muscle biopsy.

Subsequent to a diagnosis, the clinician will advise upon options for therapy, which might include drug therapy and/or surgical management. As always, the clinician is happy to discuss the management of your pet’s problems and explore the best option for the particular situation.
