BVSc MRCVS

Emma graduated in 2001 from the Massey University Veterinary School in New Zealand and spent 1 ½ years working in general and specialist practice prior to moving to the United States. She spent one year at Washington State University, to complete a rotating small animal internship and a further year at Louisiana State University completing a small animal surgical fellowship.

She then moved to London to complete a residency in Veterinary Neurology at the Royal Veterinary College. In January 2008 she joined the Neurology Service at Davies Veterinary Specialists.

"I chose neurology as a specialty because I was fascinated by the challenge of localizing the lesion from the neurological examination and observing the behaviour of the animal. I also loved the fact that it regularly crosses the boundary between medicine and surgery allowing me to pursue all aspects of neurology to achieve the best outcome for the patient.

Being able to help an animal walk again or just go home and have a good quality of life that they may not have had without me, and seeing the love in the owner’s eyes as they see their pet again is very rewarding. Gaining the skills necessary to be an effective clinician and so improving the lives of my patients has been my greatest achievement as a vet.
