Our Staff

Gerry graduated from Cambridge University in 1997. He subsequently joined Davies Veterinary Specialists in 2002. Gerry has a particular interest in canine anal sac tumours having presented a thesis on the subject which contributed to his being awarded a Master of Sciences degree in clinical oncology by the Institute of Cancer Research at Birmingham University. Gerry has published multiple journal papers on this, as well as other subjects of interest including canine lung tumours and canine insulinoma.

Gerry is a regular contributor at international veterinary oncology meetings on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition to this and his busy oncological caseload, Gerry maintains special interests in infection control and collaborative clinical research and he coordinates professional groups in both fields both in house and on a larger national scale. Gerry’s current professional goal is to be among the first to achieve recognition by examination as a European Specialist in Small Animal Oncology.

The nature of cancer therapy is such that a multidisciplinary approach is required to stand any chance of achieving the optimum outcome for our patients. Davies Veterinary Specialists provides great specialists with, dare I say it, an even greater team of nursing and support personnel.
Together we achieve so much more for our patients than we could ever achieve if we worked alone and that is why I enjoy working here.
