After graduating in 1998 at the University of Milano, Italy, Simona spent one year at the University of Georgia, United States, to complete a neurology internship. She then moved back to Europe to complete a residency in Veterinary Neurology at the University of Hannover, Germany. She also completed a PhD on Neuronal Dysplasia as cause of refractory seizures in small animals, at the University of Milano, Italy.

In 2005 she was awarded the European Diploma in Veterinary Neurology. In September 2006 she joined the Neurology Service at Davies Veterinary Specialists.

Simona says: "I chose Neurology as a speciality during the last year of University because I rescued an epileptic cat that became my own pet. Being able to recognize the lesion localization in the nervous system from the clinical signs is challenging and fascinating. Neurology is a speciality that needs both medical and surgical skills and this is very exciting.

Being able to work with small animals on a daily base is the reason why I am a vet . Being conscious that a pet is receiving the best care available is the aspect of my job that brings me the highest satisfaction

Being able to become a specialist and contributing to the great job done by the referral services at Davies Veterinary Specialists".
