| Staff Profiles
In order to protect owners and their pets the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) requires strict criteria to be fulfilled
prior to awarding Specialist Status. Veterinary surgeons must undergo extensive post-graduate training and have a high level
of experience before they can become RCVS Recognised Specialists and recognition by the RCVS is considered the highest level
of veterinary clinical specialisation in the UK.
An RCVS Specialist must demonstrate that they are active in the discipline and must be reaccredited
every five years.
Each of the clinical disciplines within the practice is led by a RCVS Recognised Specialist. Veterinary surgeons within that
discipline will either have achieved, or be working towards, advanced clinical post-graduate qualification that will lead
to Specialist Status in the future. Close interaction within and between disciplines helps ensure that a consistent level
of service is achieved.
