Davies Veterinary Specialists is celebrating a decade of veterinary dedication as one of the UK’s largest and most diverse private small animal referral practices.

Originally founded by Dr Jerry Davies, managing director, and his wife Olivia, in 1998, DVS has grown from a small, dedicated referral practice based in two farm barns, to a substantial, internationally regarded and highly sophisticated multi-disciplinary organisation. The practice now spans a complex of specially converted buildings, based near Hitchin on the Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire border. Consultations are provided in cardiology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery and soft tissue surgery and each consulting team is led by a RCVS Recognised Specialist to provide exemplary levels of patient treatment and care. DVS has highly advanced facilities and equipment including eleven consulting rooms, five operating theatres and CT and MRI scanners.

Dr Jerry Davies said: “I am extremely proud that from our humble beginnings we have developed to provide some of the highest standards in medical and surgical care in Europe. I am also proud that many of the members of staff who first joined DVS ten years ago are still with us.

The fact that a number of former members of staff attended our dinner as guests of existing staff pays tribute to the long-standing friendships that have been forged at our practice. That makes me feel DVS is getting it right both as a respected referral practice and as an employer.”
