Coming into hospital can be a stressful time, and some cats will develop behaviours or signs that can affect our interpretation of their recovery from an illness or surgery. By knowing more about your cats general habits, routines and personality, we will be able to care more for his/her individual needs during their time with us.
We try to provide our cats with an environment designed to keep stress to a minimum. They are kept in a ward away from dogs where noise is kept to a minimum. Calm music is played, and timid cats may have a box in their cage so they can hide away if they wish. Feline pheromone plug-ins are used throughout the ward as these have been shown to reduce anxiety.
It would be helpful to us if you could take a few minutes to tell us a little about your cat.
