What does your role entail?

Rotating around wards, theatre and diagnostics, and occasionally supervising within these areas as well as nursing. Managing and supporting the Flexi team. Supporting the PRP nurses and students with their studies and skills.

How has your career progressed at Davies?

My nursing skills and knowledge have improved whilst working within Davies by experiencing different and more complex cases. I have also progressed in my career at Davies from a Flexi nurse into a Flexi supervisor role.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy caring for the patients and, when I’m particularly lucky, being with them in theatre and then later in the week nursing them in wards too. It’s lovely to watch the patients that are initially very ill get the excellent care we provide and seeing them leave Davies. I enjoy watching the new nurses join the Flexi team and their skills and confidence grow.

What do you like about working at Davies in general?

I like the hands-on nursing and the input that the nurses can have into a patient’s care. I like working alongside the clinicians and anaesthesia to ensure the patients get the best possible care and seeing that all aspects of the patient’s care is considered.

What’s your favourite procedure and why?

I don’t have a particular favourite procedure as I enjoy all aspects of Flexi nursing and seeing a wide range of procedures and cases. I do enjoy emergency surgery.

Tell us about yourself, what you enjoy doing in your spare time, any pets, hobbies, charity work?

Outside of work, I spend much of my time outdoors – either walking my lovely rescue dog or at the stables with my horse.
