About us

Davies is one of the largest and most diverse, small animal veterinary referral centres in Europe, with a team of over 200 people. We are situated in the beautiful Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire countryside, within 50 minutes of London by train. Founded over 20 years ago, Davies is recognised as a leader in the veterinary referral sector offering a diverse range of multi-disciplinary services. We are also known for our pioneering sustainability initiatives within the industry, having gained the Investors in the Environment Green Award and won several other awards.

Your role and responsibilities

As a theatre technician you will work alongside the theatre nursing team to ensure theatres and patients are ready and prepared for surgery.

This includes:

  • Setting up theatres ready for use, turning them around in between patients and closing them down at the end of the day
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in all theatre areas
  • Ensure stock levels of consumables are adequate
  • Preparing sterile kits for surgical procedures
  • Assisting with clipping patients prior to surgery
  • Working within theatres helping to open surgical kit when required

We are looking for someone who uses their initiative and can work independently as well as being an effective part of the wider multi-disciplinary team. To prepare you for this role you will receive a full and comprehensive induction, so no prior experience is required.
