Davies Veterinary Specialists  is celebrating raising more than £14,000 for charitable causes in 2024.

Team members took on everything from meditation sessions to marathons and bake sales to raise money.

In total, they raised an incredible £14,060 for charities of their choice including Guide Dogs, Cats Protection and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Davies’ chosen charity, Vetlife, received more than £3,445 in donations to fund its work providing vital support to the veterinary community.

Ronan Doyle, hospital director at Davies Veterinary Specialists, said: “It was a fantastic year for fundraising and we’re delighted to support so many great causes, particularly Vetlife, who we also welcomed to our hospital to speak to us about their crucial work.

“Our team took on challenges such as the London Marathon and the Peak District 25k Ultra to raise these funds, while we held everything from a Christmas jumper day to raffles at the veterinary hospital.

“We’re immensely proud of the whole team and the support we’ve been able to show charities which are close to our hearts.”

Along with fundraising events, the team provided first aid training for pet owners and CPD sessions for the wider veterinary profession with any donations raised going towards Vetlife.

Staff also carried out acts of kindness by donating items to Friends of Southridge RSPCA and Stray Cat Rescue.

Ronan added: “Davies has a kind, caring team which has shown commitment year-on-year to supporting charities and we’re excited to see how much we can raise in 2025.”
