Jodie Hankin
Patient Care Assistant
After completing her Level 2 NVQ in Work-Based Animal Care in 2016, Jodie began her career through an apprenticeship working with a wide variety of species, including meerkats, reindeer, rabbits and chinchillas. This provided her with a strong foundation in animal handling and welfare across both exotic and domestic species.
She then progressed into a role as a Veterinary Care Assistant, gaining valuable experience within a clinical environment and supporting patient care.
Jodie later joined a street dog rescue, where she undertook a number of roles, including Adoptions Coordinator. During her time there, she worked closely with dogs of all sizes, temperaments and behavioural needs, from extremely anxious and shut-down individuals to those displaying fear-based aggression and resource guarding. This experience allowed her to develop a deeper understanding of canine behaviour, rehabilitation and the importance of tailored care.
“Working in rescue has given me experience caring for dogs with a wide range of medical conditions. I have seen how the right veterinary treatment can completely transform an animal’s quality of life, which has strongly influenced my career goals. I am keen to work at Davies because of its high standards of care and the opportunity to learn from a knowledgeable and supportive team. I look forward to developing my skills and providing the best possible care to the animals I meet.”
