Jody graduated from Bristol University in 2005, then spent a few months in general practice before moving into referral nursing. She joined Davies in 2006 initially as a rotating nurse for 2 years, then as a permanent ward nurse. During her time at Davies she gained the graduate diploma in veterinary nursing. She moved back into general practice a couple of times since 2006, and re-joined Davies full time in 2022, moving from ward nursing to client finance.
