Sophie Piper
Registered Veterinary Nurse and Wards Nurse Team Leader
Sophie began nursing in General Practice in 2008, going onto qualify in 2012. Sophie worked in a busy 24-hour hospital and progressed into the Deputy Head Nurse role. Whilst working in this position she undertook and achieved the Post Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. She joined the Nursing team at Davies in 2018.
“With the majority of referral centres requiring nurses to adopt one specialism and having never been able to pinpoint any one discipline that I considered my “favourite”, a move to a referral centre had never really seemed like an option for me; but when the position of Head Nurse of Wards became available at Davies I just knew it was the job for me. I joined the team in November 2018. In this role I am able to utilise a wide range of nursing skills for patients across all departments and still remain very involved in a clinical capacity. I get to lead a fantastic team of nurses, who are all dedicated and passionate about the work we do here, and I am proud to be a part of the team. I have a particular interest in emergency and critical care and am a big advocate for feline friendly practice.”
