2nd December 2020

Internal Medicine Specialist Ian Battersby is one of a prestigious line up of speakers for StreetVet’s online CPD Conference, to be hosted for the charity’s volunteers on 14th December 202o.

Ian is a member of StreetVet’s Specialist Advisory Board, which comprises seven of the most highly regarded clinicians in their fields. The Board provides Specialist advice and guidance to help protect and care for the pets of homeless people.

Ian, who is a European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Head of Internal Medicine at Davies will be speaking about Antibiotic Stewardship. “It is the duty of every one of us to protect the usage of antimicrobials to ensure they remain effective for the future,” he said. ”Good antibiotic stewardship within the veterinary profession is so important and I look forward to discussing how we can do it to best effect, in my forthcoming CPD session for StreetVet.”

Formed four years ago, StreetVet has more than 650 volunteers providing veterinary care to the pets of homeless people in 16 locations in the UK. The charity carries out routine work on the street while more complicated procedures are performed in practices that work with the organisation, often on a pro bono basis.
